De Jack White a Eminem se despiden del ícono estadounidense
La icónica artista estadounidense falleció el 25 de agosto, a la edad de 80 años. Horas después de hacerse pública la información se reveló su causa. Su equipo confirmó que un breve cáncer fue el motivo de su partida, rodeada de sus seres queridos en Nashville. Según lo publicado por Rolling Stone, Parton estuvo hospitalizada durante cuatro días.
Una vez se conoció la noticia de inmediato varias figuras de la música compartieron tributos y sentidos mensajes a modo de homaneje. "Era una mujer tan maravillosa", escribió Paul McCartney, asegurando que "siempre te amaremos". Las palabras de condolencias fueron entregadas también por estrellas como Taylor Swifr, Eminem, Shania Twain, Rob Halford -con quien compartió estudio y escenario-, Elton John y Beyoncé.
Los homenajes también se ampliaron a los escenarios. Durante su presentación en Londres, Jack White interpretó 'Jolene', clásico de Parton que también había versionado con The White Stripes. "Gracias, Dolly, por toda una vida dedicada a ayudar a los demás y a hacer del mundo un lugar un poco más luminoso", comentó ante el público.
